Some things are hard to describe in words. This mod, which requires Doom to play, is called Russian Overkill.

The one from the early 90’s that practically invented the modern first person shooter. Today I’d like to talk about a mod for the videogame Doom. To describe this game, you would have to say something along the lines of, “Okay, you’re a small, Technicolor green man, and your goal for each level is to take literally everything, every one, and every place you see, and roll it up into a massive boulder, which a cape-wearing King of the Cosmos will then set on fire in order to create a new star or planet. Take the series Katamari Damacy, for example. These things are extremely simple to understand when playing them firsthand, but to describe to another person, in words, is difficult.

See, certain things in life, particularly in video gaming, are hard to describe. It’s not so much Doom itself, but this mod you can download for it, called Russian Overkill, and, uh, the mod leaves the levels and core gameplay experience intact, but, uh……. See, I’ve been playing a game, called Doom……no wait, not really. And, in case you can’t tell from the title, I’ve been smiling a lot in the last week.
